Andy Cohen unveiled his new baby boy on the cover of People magazine today (13 February).

The American TV host, 50, welcomed Benjamin on 4 February.

Cohen revealed he even ‘cut the umbilical cord’ himself.

He told People: ‘[Benjamin] was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open.

‘He didn’t cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it.’

‘I’ll be forever indebted to her’

Moreover, the Watch What Happens Live presenter spoke candidly of his experience using a surrogate.

He used an organisation that helps find egg donors and surrogates in California as it is illegal in New York, where Cohen is based.

‘I worked with an incredible surrogate.

‘It’s a voluntary process, obviously. My surrogate just viewed it as she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life.

‘I’ll be forever indebted to her.’

Cohen on fatherhood

Similarly, the Bravo star also spoke of fatherhood and what conceiving Benjamin just one week before he turned 50 was like.

‘The biggest moment for me in the process was this summer.

‘I was shooting the Southern Charm reunion and we were on a lunch break, and my surrogate texted me a video of the first sonogram.

‘I was in my dressing room in tears. That was the moment for me where I was like, whoa.’

And promised that he would not become a ‘helicopter parent’ as ‘I don’t want to stress him out’.

‘I’m really open’

Baby Benjamin isn’t the only thing Any Cohen has spoken out about.

In an interview last year Cohen said: ‘I’m really open about who I am and am unapologetic, so I think there’s something freeing to that.’

He also sided with his friend Sarah Jessica Parker as speculation raged about a decades-long feud with Kim Cattrall.
