Gus Kenworthy posts thirsty bathroom selfie for very good cause

Gus Kenworthy is raising money for this year's AIDS/Lifecycle

Gus Kenworthy wants your money. But it’s for a good cause!

Knowing exactly how to grab the attention of his followers, the US Olympic-medal winning skier posted a particularly eye-catching photo to his social media last night. Although your eyes may be drawn to his large owl tattoo – or abs – he’s actually showing off a new cell phone accessory.

The ‘Be True’ grip he has designed can be attached to a phone to help you keep hold of it.

‘This photo is to show off my new @popsockets grip and THAT IS ALL!!! Don’t @ me! 😂,’ he commented.

‘Honestly though, I’m very excited because the PopGrips that I designed are finally available! 50% of the proceeds are going to help fund my @aidslifecycle campaign and that money directly improves the quality of life for those living with HIV/AIDS! Click the link in my bio to get yours now! Be you, be true!’

AIDS/Lifecycle

Kenworthy announced last year that he was participating in the annual AIDS/Lifecycle in 2019. He’s set himself the very ambitious target of raising $1million.

You can sponsor him direct, or, if you want one of his grips, check out Pop Sockets. Its selling rainbow-hued ‘Be True’ and ‘Spectrum’ design grips. Some of the proceeds will go towards his sponsorship.

Official AIDS/Lifecycle bike sponsors Cannondale are providing Kenworthy with a special Synapse model bike for the run.

The annual 545-mile cycle ride will take place 2-8 June from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Kenworthy has so far managed to raise over $55,000 – more than any other rider – but still has some way to go to hit his $1million target.

We’re sure he’ll get there eventually, but at this rate, he may have to post a few more thirsty photos first!

And here you prolly thought you couldn’t love him more.

AIDS/LifeCycle is an annual ride that takes place in June over the course of seven days, covering 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The event raises awareness about the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic and funds services such as HIV testing, prevention, care, and more. In the years since Cannondale has become the official bike sponsor, the event has successfully raised over $180 million dollars for AIDS relief, with 30,714 riders, and over 7,000 support members.

“Our relationship with Cannondale has been much more than sponsorship. The Cannondale team is really part of the fabric of the event, ensuring that no one misses a mile of the ride due to a mechanical issue,” said AIDS/LifeCycle Ride Director Tracy Evans in a statement. “We are proud to have Cannondale as our official bike sponsor and honored to have them as our friends.”
